Gooey Praline Butter Cake

  • Ice Cream: Make your own pralines 'n cream using your favorite brand of vanilla with Praline Topping syrup or crumbled pralines (Original Creole, Rum or Chocolate). Add Pecanfections to a banana split for added crunch.
  • Cheesecake: With your favorite store bought or homemade version, dress it up with a single Pralinett or Pecanfection on top. Want a little more on top? Use crumbled pralines in your favorite flavor or Praline Topping.
  • Apple Pie: Actually, any pie flavor can be dressed with Praline Topping or try making your own simple sauce with Rum or Chocolate pralines. Simply melt crumbled pralines in equal parts water and butter, mix well and drizzle.

This rich butter cake starts out with an ordinary box of yellow cake mix. That is where ordinary ends. This cake is so moist and rich, a little will go a long way. For added praline flavor, crumble some of your favorite flavored pralines on top.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, 1 egg, and butter with an electric mixer. Pour into a greased 13" x 9" x-2" baking pan and set aside.

In another mixing bowl, add cream cheese and beat until smooth with an electric mixer. Continue beating while adding the 2 eggs and vanilla. Add powdered sugar and beat well. Reduce the speed and slowly pour in butter and add the chopped Pecanfections.

Pour the filling over cake mixture and spread evenly. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool before serving.
